About Me

My deep interest in emotional healing, including my own, informs all aspects of my work. It is my bias that our effectiveness as psychotherapists and the theoretical frameworks we choose are directly related to our commitment to our own on-going healing and growth.

After graduating from the University of Georgia and moving to California, I found many people, like myself, attracted to peers and mentors who were committed to their own healing process and to embracing innovative ways to take the practice of psychotherapy to new levels.

I moved to Davis in 1984 to direct a county-wide community mental health agency, and in 1987 began a part-time private practice. I discovered that I loved doing individual and couples therapy even more than my work in community mental health. In the early 1990's, I joined the Davis Center for Psychotherapy.

My on-going training in Gestalt Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Natural Processing and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) brings effective integrative dimensions to my practice.
